Job Searching SUCKS!

So I've been busy lately searching for a job here in the great state of Texas and have come to the conclusion that this searching idea sucks!  I've been on a countless number of interviews and have submitted my resume to numerous companies and every response I get is "we have decided to go with a candidate who's qualifications are a better fit for us.  Thank you for applying".  WHAT THE BEGEEEZZZZOUS.  What qualifications do you need to work as a receptionist???  I have done all the task that are described in the job descriptions for 5+ years, yet I'm still not qualified.  It has to be that I don't have my bachelors finished.  But really how is a degree, a simple piece of paper stating that you have satisfactorily completed the courses under which major you have declared??  Experience in the real world holds nothing to that piece of paper.  That shitty piece of paper means the world to companies but does not say this person has the skills and the ability to perform the functions of a job.  This person that has that piece of paper most likely doesn't even know how to wipe their own ass.

I have gotten to the point where I want to give up, but the need for cash so I can get my monthly massages and add to my makeup collection stays in my head.  I have resorted to applying to be a courier for a laboratory when I should be the one in the lab running specimens.  My knowledge base is to expansive for most companies to grasp I guess.

Please Dear God just let the perfect position fall in to my lap.  I know you wouldn't have made this experience this difficult and taxing on my emotions if there wasn't something greater out there for me.

Wicked - An Elphaba Inspired Look

Since getting the Urban Decay Oz The Great and Powerful palettes I have been wanting to do looks to represent Elphaba and Glenda from the Broadway Musical "Wicked"...well I've finally achieved a look inspired by Elphaba. Elphaba (being my favorite character) has sharp cheekbones and deep hollow eyes to make her more "wicked". In this look I tried to recreate her green face in my eyes with the Jealous color from the palette and smoke out the color to make a hollow deep set eye with browns and dark green. I also tried to achieve the sharp cheekbones by contouring my cheeks heavily and using a bright dark red blush. To go along with the Wicked show poster I went with a red lip. I hope you enjoy watching how I go this look as much as I enjoy the musical and the makeup used to create it.

~The Bachelorette~ 6/3/13 - The First Dates

This weeks Bachelorette was nothing much to be desired.  It lacked intrigue and basically couldn't really keep my attention.  I didn't miss a second of it though, but only so I could write to you all about how lame this week was.  I even recorded it (but only so my parents who were out of town could watch it...who also thought this week was as lame as unseasoned chicken).

Let's just jump into it...MERRP!!

The first one-on-one date was with Brooks.  Their first stop (because it wouldn't be a Bachelor(ette) show without multiple stops in one date) was at Winnie Couture Bridal Fashion.  The two dressed up in different tuxedos and bridal gowns respectively and left the store wearing a traditional black tux and bridal gown.  Next stop was to a cupcake street truck to do a "cake tasting".  They then went to the Hollywood sign where they shared their first kiss.  Nothing to steamy with that...would have been nice to have a steamy kiss while overlooking Los Angeles, but whatever.  Also while I was watching this scene I was reminded of another Bachelor moment being at the Hollywood sign...can't ABC think of anything else than this setting??? Moving on.  Brooks and Des finished their date by driving into the "ghetto" of LA and moving "Road Closed" signs (obviously set up by ABC) to end up upon a table set up for their dinner on a bridge that looks back on the city.  They had a private concert and danced.  Needless to say Brooks got the rose and is still with us. --OHHHH  one more things I want to mention...when they pulled away from the house in the beginning of the date Michael G had made a comment about the Bentley being "baby blue"...he is a true guy to not know that it is "robins egg blue"...geesh..LOL

The first group date...all I have to say about this one...HORRIBLE CHOICE.  I did not enjoy it one bit.  Very annoying.  Ugh..I wish I had never seen this.  On this group date was Dan, Juan Pablo, Zack K, Will, Brian, Drew, Mikey T, Michael G, Brandon, Ben, Kasey, James, Zak W, and I think one other guy but can't recall who, but does it matter?  Not to me.  So the group date note Des sent to the guys said "Who is here for the right reason?", which led the date to make a music video called "The Right Reasons" featuring Soulja Boi, which in my opinion was the highlight seeing someone other that the bad hair and makeup Des and the cry baby men.  Des mentioned as this date was starting that she "never had to juggle 14 men in my life..."  Uhh no one really has unless you are a prostitute that does more than one man at a time.  I digress.  The whole shooting of the music video was a total mess.  The men were all sabotaging each other in some way by distraction and poking fun.  If they were smart they would have supported one another to show Des that they are mature and have a sense of caring about them...but apparently they were all raised by wolves.  After the video shoot was done, they had a cocktail time (like usual group dates), and Zak W. gave Des an antique journal that was inscribed by the original owners.  He wanted to show her that he was just a jokster by giving her something serious.  HA.  During this group date Ben seemed to be ABC focus for being the jackass guy that everyone can't stand.  Why is it that in every season there has to be one.  Can't the cast just be normal people with normal egos???  A handful of the guys can't stand him and say that it is his attitude and he just rubs them wrong.  What is happening in the house when cameras are rolling for him to rub guys wrong???  {My mind goes there sometimes}  When Ben was talking to Des he, of course, used his son to win her over.  {LEAVE CHILDREN OUT OF IT!}.  He then kisses her and the sound was atrocious!!!  Also during this date Mikey T pulls Ben aside to discuss Ben's swooping in on other guys time with Des.  Ben does not listen.  Ben got the rose...*BARF*

The second one-on-one date was with Bryden.  It was a "Road Trip".  The two got road snacks, Bryden paid (why didn't they just walk out cause ABC got the tab anyway?) and headed to the beach where the flew a kite and Des even wrote B+D with a heart around it in the sand.  Their next location was at an orange orchard where they picked ONE orange (on film anyway) and sat and had a snack type picnic.  Des offered Bryden Brie cheese and he said he "didn't know what that is."  So adorable.  For the end of their date they headed off to the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa to have dinner and discus Bryden's car accident and how that lead him to the military (he also said that he always wanted to join the military).  The ended up in the jacuzzi where Bryden was so adorable saying in many different ways how the date was so awesome and you could tell he wanted to kiss her.  Des said "just kiss me already".  She also said in her interview that "this is the best road trip I've ever had."  He also got the rose.

FINALLY - The Rose Ceremony -
Brian looks like a slick backed weasel.  He creeps me out.  I have a theory about him and Ben, but I'll address that at the end.  Ben showed his swooping skills again, on Michael G.  This really pissed me out because Michael G. was sharing that he is diabetic with Des and that is something important that she should know and Ben ruined it.  I dislike you Ben!  After Ben stole Des away they went off somewhere away from the guys, Ben called it "Hide and Seek" (such a immature pecker wood).  He tells Des that they have a secret (which will reoccur next week, according to the preview), that the have kissed and Ben is delusional in the fact that Des hasn't kissed anyone else.  Whatever!  The guys confront Ben as a group about his swooping in...again he doesn't listen, doesn't care. After confronting Ben Zak W. brought up that Ben had said previously that he has a bar and how other bachelors have come on the show with one bar and end up with five. THANK GOD THIS EPISODE IS DONE!!!

The guys we said goodbye to this week:
Will - thinks he put himself too far in the friend zone
Robert - said that going home was a nightmare
Nick M - felt pretty rejected

OKAY - on to my theory - The previews to this season have showed a woman showing up saying she is one of the guys' girlfriend.  (This will be happening next week).  It is either Ben who had his son with a "good friend" and that the both of them wanted a child and decided to have one together but not be together.  Um okay.  Or the girlfriend belongs to Brian.  When he was talking to Des during the rose ceremony he told her that his last relationship ended just two months prior to him coming on to the show.  These two men are skeeze balls if you ask me.  Either way.

So all in all this episode was just a big disappointment.  The guys are all drama and tears.  Telling their sob stories to get sympathy and hopefully a rose.  They all just need to pull their balls out of their back pockets and man up.  And I have to say Des has some bad hair days...like everyday.  And makeup that is less than desirable.

From the previews next week - some of the guys get in a fight and one goes to the ER via ambulance.  The "girlfriend" shows up, and of course guys go home and cry.

My prediction for the last man standing has change to either Bryden or God forbid Ben.

~The Bachelorette~ Premier 5/27/13 - BLABBER

On the night of the premier of this season's Bachelorette, I decided to make a blog post about every episode.  I don't know how well this will go because I'm lazy and forget to do things.  For example, I'm writing this four days after the premier...nothing is that fresh in my mind from Monday night.  I do have notes from watching it "live" and I can go back and watch the episode again on ABC.com.  So without further ado, here is my recap/opinion/babble about the Bachelorette.

DUN DUN DUN TADAAA:

If you didn't know (have been avoiding all social media, including the regular broadcast news), this seasons Bachelorette has finally begun on ABC.  Like every past season of the Bachelorette, ABC brought back a "fan favorite" from a previous season (Sean "the Douche bag fame seeker's" seasson), Desiree Hartsock.  Now I say "fan favorite" like that because I really wish Tiarra, Tianna...whatever the heck her name was was the new bachelorette.  Just kidding.  Desiree is a good choice...so far.  She seems to have her head straight and knows what she wants, as far as I can tell from the first episode.  We will revisit this later as the show progresses.

About the cast: (information gathered is from http://beta.abc.go.com/shows/the-bachelorette/bios)

THE BACHELORETTE:
Desiree Hartsock: 27, originally from Northglenn, Colorado.  Bridal stylist.  Love the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" for the personal journey and overcoming ones own obstacles.  Wants a man that can be himself, be candid and goofy and can let things in their relationship happen naturally.

In the opening of the show, when Desiree was shown her house in Malibu, she was wearing a bright orange/red/coral dress.  This color looked amazing on her and the cut was phenomenal.  If she wears this color as well as bright blue and bight emerald green she will definitely catch the eye of an amazing fashion forward guy.  Also, ABC gave her a car in which I am totally jealous of...a BENTLEY!!!  in a beautiful Tiffany robins egg blue color...ugh I hate her already for the amazing clothes and the awesome car!!!!

Last for her...I want to give ABC props on hiding the makeup artist when Desiree was getting ready to meet the 25 men.  The different nail color while doing her makeup from when she put on her earrings was a distinct give away.  Not to say that these women on this show have never had a makeup artist do their makeup, because lets face it, not every woman knows how to do their makeup (watch YOUTUBE beauty gurus for tips ya'll).

Moving on...

THE BACHELORS:
The men that are on this season seem range from legit losers to a few major hotties!!!  I won't go into deep detail about them...only the important stuff...ie their age, where they are from, job, height, how their intro to Desiree was, and who was hot!!!

• Ben (Tom Brady look alike): 28, Lubbock, TX, Entrepreneur, 6'2".  Introduced himself with his son in tow.  The son gave Desiree a flower and that "melted her heart"
• Brad: 27, Denver, CO, Accountant/DJ, 6'3".  Introduced himself by bringing a wish bone for the two to wish with.  Des got the bigger half.
• Brandon: 26, Costa Mesa, CA, Painting contractor, 6'1".  Came in on a motorcycle.  Des said he was "cute" as he walked into the house.  He has a sad story...his dad left the family at 5 years of age and his mother is an addict.  He was raised by his grandparent.
• Brian: 29, Olney, MD, Financial Advisor 6'2".  All I remember from his introduction was that Des petted his jacket and said it was "soft"
• Brooks: 28, Salt Lake City, UT, Sales & Marketing, 6'4".  Was very nervous, made it clear and mentioned it over and over again.  He also needs a haircut.  The long hair things is cute on some guys, but not him.  I'm not into that.
• Bryden (LOVE HIS NAME): 26, Missoula, MT, Iragi War Vet, 6'1".  Introduced himself by bringing up Sean's loss was his and all the other guys gains.  -- I really like him...mainly for the fact that he has a German Shepherd that he says is his best friend and goes where he goes as long as dogs are allowed.
• Chris: 27, McMinnville, OR, Mortgage Broker, 6'4".  Introduced but saying he had butterflies in his stomach, got down on one knee to ask if he could tie his shoe.
• Dan: 30, Dublin, CA, Beverage Sales Director, 6'0".  Not remember-able at all.  Even as I was watching, I couldn't recall what he did.  
• Diogo: 29, Penha Brazil, Marketing manager, 5'10".  This guy...haha...came out of the limo in a suit of armor.  Des was shocked to say the least.  When he went into the house she made an "eek" face.
• Drew: 27, Scottsdale, AZ, Digital Marketing Analyst, 6'2".  He seemed very effeminate and nerdy, but cute.  Des made the "mmmhhhmmm" noise as he walked away.  -- Another sad story, has a handicapped sister that he helped raise and his parents are divorced.
• James: 27, Marietta, GA, Sales, 6'2".  Was very adamant about loyalty.
• Jonathan (AKA Creeper): 26, Hickory, NC, Attorney, 6'1".  Brought a card with the "fantasy suite" note inside.  Kept trying to get Des to go into the "fantasy suite" that he created all night.  CREEPER status.
• Juan Pablo (AKA MAJOR HUNK!): 31, Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Former Professional Soccer Player, 5'11".  Had issues with Des being able to pronounce his name, but brought her some chocolate!!!
• Kasey: (AKA hashtag lover): 29, Tulsa OK, Advertising Executive, 6'4".  Put everything he has to say as #blah blah, #so and so.  Also has a crazy out of control right eyebrow.  -- ALL I HAVE TO SAY is #weirdo!
• Larry: 34, Overland Park KS (Lives in CALI somewhere), ER Doctor, 5'10".  Said that he loves to dance.  Tried to so a spinning dip with Des, but her dress got caught on her shoe and ruined it.  He cursed as he walked away to the house.  He was obsessed with "messing up the dip all night"
• Micah: 32, Detroit Lakes, MN, Law Student, 5'11".  Created his own suit because he knew she went to FIDM.  Des said "I'll do the sewing".
• Michael G.: 33, Miami, FL, Federal Prosecutor, 6'2".  Attempted to get Des' penny from Sean's season to have a re-do wish.
• Mike R.: 28, Dallas (grew up in England), Dental student/Model, 6'4".  Wore his dental "white" jacket and said he could be her McDreamy or McSteamy. #Cheesy (tehehe)
• Mikey T.: 30, Glenn Ellyn, IL, Plumbing Contractor, 6'0".  Brought up his family and how he is the oldest and can understand how her brother feels.
• Nick M.: 27, Rochester, NY, Investment Adviser, 6'1".  Wrote Des a poem
• Nick R.: 26, Chicago, IL, Tailor/Magician, 5'9".  Turned a napkin into a white rose.  -- Seemed very shifty and a sleeze ball
• Robert: 30, Glendale, AZ, Advertising Entrepreneur, 6'2".  Took tie off.  -- In his video piece he stated that he invented the spinning sign job.
• Will: 28, Federal Way, WA, Banker, 6'3".  Gave Des the nickname of Athena.  He also had a weird stare towards her.  -- In his video piece he does a kind of yoga that most people don't understand and he was overly friendly in a creepy way.
• Zack K.: 28, Phillips Ranch, CA, Book Publisher, 6'2".  Wore his Converse Chuckie T's with his suit.
• Zak W.: Mico, TX, Drilling Fluid Engineer, 6'0".  Came out of the limo shirtless and asked "will you accept these abs?"  Des seemed impressed and said "DAMN"  --  SO HOT!!! If he is not chosen I'm hunting him down!!!

OKAY...so there is the run down of the cast of this seasons Bachelorette.

This season also saw the return of the first impression rose during this first episode, because it was such a hit in Sean's season when he wanted to give roses out before the rose ceremony.  Des gave the first rose to Ben.  They seemed to have a good connection at first.  The second rose went to Zak W.  When he took Des for their talk he decided to strip down to his boxer briefs (yes ladies...and he looked yummy!!!) and jump into the pool.  Bryden got the third rose (she was really taken aback from his Irgai story).  Brandon also did something sweet, but strange on the first meeting, he gave Des a coin that his mom gave to him and told Des to hold on to it and that she can return it to his mom at their hometown date.  The fourth rose was given to Drew.  He was very giddy during their one on one chat time and seemed to be checking out her dress.  The fifth rose...I can't recall who received it and I don't feel like watching the end...so yeah.

Haul'n it!

A WAYYYY overdue haul. If you viewed my beauty.com/drugstore.com haul, you will remember that I mentioned getting a Richard Chai bag full of high end products samples. Well, I finally got around to filming a haul for it!!! YAY!!! Also weeks ago I received an order from Ulta and I am just now letting you guys know what I bought and what I think of the products.
